Why does Herzog work so well?

One of the most fundamental and essential elements, that facilitates life on this planet: OXYGEN, is perversely one of the most taken for granted elements. There are many metabolic processes that occur throughout the body; the vast majority require oxygen. This is called the Oxidative process. The by-product of all Oxidative processes is a free radical, which in itself can be destructive (Though they are essential in the fight against infection). When bound to Oxygen these free radicals are neutralized and eliminated. Oxygen is therefore required for both the initiation of the essential oxidative process AND the elimination of the potentially harmful by-products. A lack of oxygen within the body can cause toxic waste build up and this is when metabolism slows down and when health hazards or even serious disease can arise.

Diet

To burn fat, you need Oxygen, as we have said above. The burning of Fat is an aerobic metabolic process. But we also need to seriously talk about Diet and the intake of calories and food types.

The body gets its celeries for 3 food groups: Fats, Carbohydrates and Proteins. Except for water, protein is the most plentiful substance in the body. It is the major building material for the body. Because protein is so important in the building and repairing of the body, it is not used by the body for energy, when sufficient carbohydrates and fats are present. So when we have fats or carbohydrates protein is left alone to do the fundamental work of repair and build.

Carbohydrates are the main source of energy for the body. They provide us with IMMEDIATE energy by combining with Oxygen in the blood.

Fats are the CONCENTRATED energy source. They have over 2 times the calorific value of per gram of carbohydrates or proteins.

During Aerobic metabolisation, glucose and fats use oxygen to form adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) which is the body’s ULTIMATE source of energy. Without Sufficient oxygen levels Glucose (carbohydrate) is metabolized ANAEROBICALLY which uses up O2 from cells and the result is a build up of lactic acid which impairs energy levels and causes pain and discomfort if left unattended.

A diet that empowers the body to burn fat needs to restrict the amount of carbohydrates. The less available Carbs there are to burn, the body is forced to burn fat for energy but to do so it needs sufficient and good supply of Oxygen. IT is important to note, however that you should not eliminate Carbohydrates all together, just reduce them. Carbs from Fresh fruit and vegetables are vital for a balanced diet and to ensure the body receives sufficient vitamins and nutrients. Eliminate processed foods and things like white flour, white bread, white pasta, and white rice.

Exercise
